[Heir to the Jedi] Expanded blurb for Heir to the Jedi
On the 28th April we got the promotional blurbs for the first four new canon novels, now Amazon UK[External site - opens in a new window/tab] has, probably unintentially, revealed an expanded blurb for Kevin Hearne's Heir to the Jedi novel:

"The Galactic Civil War rages on after the destruction of the Death Star and Luke Skywalker struggles to learn more about the Force without the aid of Obi-Wan Kenobi-or indeed without any aid at all. But the few memories he has of Obi-Wan's instruction point the way to a stronger control of the Force, and he is encouraged to pursue it by a new friend in the Alliance. When Luke, R2-D2 and his new ally are tasked with liberating a valuable asset from the Empire and delivering her to a safe planet where she can aid the Alliance, their journey across the galaxy is fraught with peril-and opportunities for Luke to discover the mysteries of the Force."

Note that the UK release date on the Amazon UK listing is incorrect - 20th November is the UK release date for James Luceno's Tarkin novel. Amazon UK has updated their listing with a UK release date of 15th January.
Heir to the Jedi
by Kevin Hearne is scheduled for release in hardback, Audio Book and e-Book formats on 13th January 2015 in the US and 15th January in the UK.

[A New Dawn] A New Dawn micro-excerpt #1
Del Rey has posted on its Facebook[External site - opens in a new window/tab] page the first micro-excerpt from A New Dawn - the first novel in the recently  announced new canonical universe:

"It was time to move. Hera picked out the identifying transponder signal of a ship in the convoy. One button-push later, her ship was that vessel, as far as anyone trying to watch traffic was concerned. With practiced ease, she weaved her freighter into the chaotic flood of cargo ships heading to the moon. None of these guys can fly worth a flip, she thought. It was just as well it wasn’t a recruiting trip. She probably wouldn’t have found anyone worth her time."

A New Dawn by John Jackson Miller is scheduled for release in hardback and e-Book formats on September 2nd in the US and the 25th in the UK.
